Carbon Beach

carbon beachCarbon Beach otherwise known as “Billionaires Beach” due to the number of billionaires calling this stretch of Malibu Beach home.   Thus making this beach one of the most supreme, prestigious addresses in the Malibu area.  Carbon Beach lies east of the Malibu Pier and extends along Pacific Coast Highway up to Carbon Canyon Road.  The lots are deep, sandy and have a unique shape that of a crescent and are also uniquely situated up high on the sandy beach with gentle sloping running between the homes and the waves.  Residents in Carbon Beach enjoy no sea walls that separate the space between the homes and the sea, offering up vast amounts of dry sand to use, no matter what tide.  These are some of the finest, most expensive beach homes you will find in many parts of the world.  Carbon Beach is home to many of the entertainment and technology industries leaders whose astute tastes are reflected in the diverse styles of architecture on this part of the coast.  Most of the homes on this stretch of sand have been rebuilt into newer, larger more modern structures.  One of the most famous homes is the John Lautner designed “Stevens House” with it’s dramatic arching walls of cement and remarkable glass windows.

Carbon Beach’s residents now have the added benefit of walking along the sand to enjoy the Malibu location of Nobu.

Carbon Beach homes for sale start around $6m, however, that price is dictated on whether the home is referred to as a “tear down.” Single lot homes average around $10-$15m, but larger homes on larger lots have been recording sales high as $50m or more.
